 Hours:         32.5 hours per week,  

        Mon – Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch

                     Term time only (If you are required to work on Inset days these will be paid as overtime)

Contract: Fixed Term

JG3: Spine point 5-6 £24,790 – £25,183 (FTE) Pay award pending

Actual salary £18,708 - £19,005 (pay award pending)

We are seeking to appoint an excellent learning support assistant to join our year 5 learning support team

St Peter’s is a 630-place primary with beautiful buildings set in lovely green surroundings. It is a welcoming inclusive school with a strong Christian ethos and was judged to be ‘Excellent’ in the last SIAMs (church school) inspection in February 2020 and ‘Outstanding’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection in 2023. St Peter’s is an English Hub and a lead school in delivering CPD across the Lighthouse Schools’ Partnership. We have a clear pedagogy, exciting curriculum, and high expectations of all members of our school community.  We seek to ensure that teaching and learning is of the highest quality and offer CPD to all staff to support their growth and development as excellent practitioners.  

The successful candidate will: 

Be able to build strong and positive relationships with colleagues, children and parents

Be passionate about making a difference to all children

Have some experience in working with children in a classroom setting and ideally have experience of working with children who have SEND/SEMH needs

Have some experience of teaching phonics and early reading (or be willing to learn)

Be flexible and able to work collaboratively and proactively within a busy team

Be a reflective practitioner with a strong desire to learn and improve. 

Be keen to undertake training relevant to the role

Be resilient, positive, patient and compassionate. 

Hold Level 2 qualifications as a minimum.
